Where to get the Cap of Twilight in Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a variety of armor sets to please long-time fans of the series. One of the coolest of those outfits is the Twilight set, which recalls Twilight Princess. Players must find several different pieces to assemble the complete outfit. Here is our guide explaining where to get the Cap of Twilight in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – where to get the Cap of Twilight

The Cap of Twilight is part of the overall Twilight set. It allows Link to appear in the traditional style that was so common up to that point. To get the Cap of Twilight, you must head to the Gleeok Den in the Depths and kill the King Gleeok guarding a treasure chest.

First you need to find the Gleeok Den. In the Depths, it is located near the north central area that corresponds to Thyphlo Ruins in the overworld. You can easily reach the den by descending through the Drenan Highlands Chasm and then traveling northeast. If you have activated Katenim Lightroot, another option is to fast travel to it and descend toward the southwest before veering east through the canyon. Either way, you’ll pass through narrow opening to find the den. The screenshot below shows a map of its location. We’ve also posted a dedicated guide telling you where to find the Gleeok Den.

In the Gleeok Den, defeat King Gleeok. It is a fearsome foe, with multiple heads you must eliminate before you can damage its torso. Each head fires a different type of elemental blast. I’ve always thought Gleeok was a wicked cool monster, since its memorable first appearances in The Legend of Zelda on the NES. I can’t say I’ve ever enjoyed fighting it, though. This one’s ability to inflict gloom damage doesn’t improve matters.

For help defeating Gleeok monsters, see our guide on how to defeat Frost Gleeok. Many of the same strategies apply. Make sure you take out all three heads in short order. Otherwise, they may revive ahead of schedule. When the Gleeok collapses, move in close. Quickly deal as much damage as possible to its main mass. Then the heads regenerate and the process repeats. The stone columns along the edge of the open stage area are useful for avoiding its attacks as you ready your bow.

Once you defeat King Gleeok, open the treasure chest to get the Cap of Twilight. When you wear it, everyone will know you are a grade-A hero, capable of besting even a multi-headed dragon.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for purchase from the Nintendo Store.
