Quordle Hints For July 13

Word #1: For the upper left word, think of Greek mythology. This isn’t a name, but a word used to describe a class of female deities. These deities personify parts of nature, such as water, groves, or trees. An example subclass of this tier of deities were the Oceanids, who inhabited the sea, and another is the Dryads, who inhabited the trees. An alternative clue for those who are more interested in biology is that this word is the name of an intermediate stage of some insects’ lives.

For players not particularly interested in Greek mythology or biology, a good hint may be that this word does not include A, E, I, O, or U. This word does have a Y, which acts as the sole vowel of this one-syllable word.

Word #2: The upper-right word is one that is most commonly used when referring to a tiny, but not quite insignificant spot or stain on something. One pop-culture example of how this word may be used in this context is “Horton discovered that a small town existed on this ______ of dust”. It is also a term used to describe smoked pork belly.

If players would rather rely on letter clues, the word contains just a single vowel, and it ends with a K.

Word #3: The lower-left word is one used to describe animals. Specifically, it refers to undomesticated animals. When referring to an animal that is a member of a not-commonly domesticated species, this word is synonymous with “wild”. If it is being used to describe an animal of a domesticated species, such as cats or dogs, it is synonymous with “stray”.

The last four letters of this word are all very common letters, and the word begins with an F. There are no repeat letters in this word.

Word #4: For many, this will likely be the trickiest word of the bunch. The bottom-right word is a geometry term used to describe shapes that resemble eggs. In other words, it is the three-dimensional version of an oval. For Marvel fans, it is also the name of an alien race from the Fantastic Four series, who sport egg-shaped heads.

This is the only word from today’s puzzle that has a duplicate letter. That letter is O, and the two O’s do not appear consecutively.

Quordle Answers For July 13

The four answers for today’s puzzle, in the order listed above, are “NYMPH”, “SPECK”, “FERAL”, and “OVOID”. This puzzle is certainly on the more difficult end of the spectrum for daily Quordles, and certainly an easy one to miss, especially because of that really awkward “OVOID”!
