Along with well-known comic book writer and cartoonist Matt Kindt, Keanu worked on a comic book named Berzerker. Back in March 2021, Netflix confirmed that they acquired the rights for BRZRKR. It was also made official that the streaming platform is working on the comics’ live-action movie adaptation and an anime series. As expected, Keanu Reeves will be in the lead role in the movie and will also be cast as the voice actor in the followed-up anime adaptation.

In the recent Comic-Con 2022 Event held in San Diego, BRZRKR got a panel attended by Keanu Reeves himself. At the event, it was confirmed that the anime adaptation of BRZRKR is planning to run for a total of 2 seasons. Studio Production I.G will be producing the anime. Currently, the makers haven’t shared any information regarding the release date or cast members for the show. But, we can expect BRZRKR to release sometime in 2023, as it has been a long time since the project began development.

Production I.G is one of the most well-known Japanese animation studios. Blood+, Psycho-Pass, and Noblesse are some of the best works by the studio, also known for their great animation. So, it would be a treat for the fans to watch the anime adaptation of BRZRKR taken over by Production I.G.

The story of the comic follows the life of ‘B,’ an immortal warrior. He is a half-mortal and half-god who has been wandering the Earth for ages. But finally, he finds refuge, and now he is working with the US government. While the government uses him to fight the most dangerous battles, he asks for the truth about existence in return.
