A recent leak reveals a long-awaited increase of the Apex Legends level cap might be coming in the near future. For most of the game’s history, players were unable to progress their account past level 500. Soon, the cap is rumored to rise to 700.

Dedicated players are frustrated because many reached level 500 and can’t progress further. There are few rewards or prestige left for those already at the top. Stockpiling Legend tokens is a common complaint.
Known Apex leaker, SomeoneWhoLeaks, tweeted out that the change is coming in the “near future” and included images of the new levels. In the past, SomeoneWhoLeaks put out reliable information about upcoming content, so there is some strength behind the leak.

The badges for levels 1-500 change every 100 levels with a different design inspired by one of the legends. The new levels represent Octane and Lifeline, two of the oldest legends. In the same way the other levels award gun charms, the new levels will likely also include matching gun charms.
Apex Legends has been around for a few years now and they will likely need to do this again. The game is as popular as it has ever been and many feel that it is still just getting started. For now, those who like to grind will continue to gain their progress.
If the leak is true, the increase would most likely come in August at the start of Season 14. For now, players can work on claiming the rewards in the Apex Legends Awakening Collection Event.
