UFC London’s Best Performances

There were many rising stars at UFC London. Upcoming fighters such as Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett have made this normal UFC Fight Night into a much watch. Here is a look at UFC London’s best performances.

Nathaniel Wood vs. Charles Rosa (Wood wins via Decision)

These Featherweights came out swinging right out of the gate. This was expected to be a high energy fight and it delivered while being one of the most entertaining fights of the day. Nathaniel Wood was coming off of a two year break from the octagon, but was very sharp in his fight. Wood came in with a strategy specifically made for Rosa and it showed.

In the first round, Wood hammered Rosa’s left leg with leg and calf kicks. These kicks ended up being a major factor in this fight as Rosa could barely stay up later on. Throughout this fight, Wood showcased his striking skills as he outclassed Rosa’s abilities. Rosa had his moments during this fight, he clipped Wood with a hook which staggered Wood in the second round. He also had a chance to put Wood away with a choke which was taken away from the round ending. Other than those moments Wood had complete control of the fight. He took control of the fight with his leg kicks and took that momentum to snipe Rosa with punches from outside of his reach.

Mason Jones vs. L’udovít Klein (Klein wins via Decision)

L’udovít Klein was a big underdog matched up against former cage warriors Lightweight champion Mason Jones. This was a fast-paced and exciting fight until the third round. Jones was a big favorite heading into this matchup but ultimately the experience and boxing ability of Klein came through.

Klein had many beautiful combinations throughout the fight, one of which dropped Jones to the ground where he almost finished him. There was also a rare kick thrown by Klein that was straight out of the Karate Kid movies. Klein ultimately got off to a hot start and didn’t let up until he played it safe in the third round. He was also the first of the major betting underdogs to win their fight. This was a big win for Klein but also a big setback for someone with the potential of Jones. These two fights show the importance of the prelims as they hold some of UFC London’s best performances.

Molly McCann vs. Hannah Goldy (McCann wins via TKO)

“Meatball” Molly McCann is one of the more popular female fighters in the UFC. This is largely due to the sponsorship deal she has with Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports. McCann’s popularity also came from her stunning spinning elbow knockout in her last outing. This is a big matchup against Hannah Goldy considering the strength difference between the two.

The fight started out very even. The two fighters traded punches with McCann getting the best out of most of the exchanges. The fight took a quick turn in favor of McCann when she trapped Goldy in the corner and finished her with a combination ending with the same spinning elbow that she used in her last fight. After she finished her opponent she jumped out of the cage and celebrated with Dave Portnoy himself. “Meatball” Molly McCann is becoming a star in the Women’s Flyweight Division.

Paddy Pimblett vs. Jordan Levitt (Pimblett via Rear Naked Choke)

No fighter has yet to reach the hype of Conor McGregor. But Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett has become one of the most popular fighters in just three UFC fights. In this fight, he was matched up versus Jordan Levitt who is mostly known for his grappling and slams.

The fight started off in the favor of Levitt as he had top control for most of the round but didn’t do anything with it. The round ended with Pimblett reversing positions and reigning punches on his opponent. The second round looked to be much of the same as the first until Pimblett attempted a choke. During this submission attempt, Pimblett kneed Levitt’s head which ended up giving him the ultimate position to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Pimblett’s hype is real and if he continues to win in the UFC the sky is the limit for this young rising star who had one of UFC London’s best performances.
