B1ad3 confirms sdy will stay until the Rio Major

Natus Vincere coach Andrey “B1ad3” Gorodenskiy confirmed that Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev will remain with the squad for the foreseeable future, with the Ukrainian rifler set to play for the organization at the IEM Rio Major in November.

In an interview published by Natus Vincere on YouTube, the coach reflected on IEM Cologne 2022, the team’s loss in the final against FaZe, and the future of the roster going into the new season.

sdy will remain with NAVI for the next three months

When asked about the future of the roster, the Natus Vincere coach acknowledged the team’s good performances with sdy: “We’ve produced some pretty good results with sdy, placing second in Cologne and winning BLAST, which is not too shabby,” he stated. “That’s why we decided it makes sense to keep going with him as a stand-in.”

“The next tournaments are BLAST, EPL, and the next Major and we’re planning to keep Vitya for these and then decide what to do,” B1ad3 stated, confirming that sdy‘s future in the squad will depend on the performances in the next three months.

B1ad3 then proceeded to talk about the rifler’s individual performance and development, admitting that the player could improve his reactions and decision-making in-game: “His main issue is probably his reaction to certain plays in-game – it’s different both in terms of decision-making and speed.”

However, the coach concluded by saying that: “It’s possible [for sdy] to adapt and get better but it takes time. All in all, I can say that he does a really good job in some in-game situations.”

“If Vitya [sdy] can improve his game, adjust to our playstyle and get better, but not even as good as we want him to, we can win tournaments.”

sdy joined Natus Vincere in June, replacing Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov following the in-game leader’s departure from the active lineup, citing “high reputational risks for the club.” The rifler arrived on a free loan deal with MAD Lions as the organization had shut down their CS:GO division just a few months prior.

Together with the 25-year-old rifler, the Ukrainian-based organization reached back-to-back grand finals at BLAST Premier Spring Finals and IEM Cologne, taking a trophy from the former and falling to FaZe after a five-map thriller in Germany.

Natus Vincere‘s roster for the next three months will be:

Russia Denis “electroNic” Sharipov
Russia Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy
Ukraine Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev
Ukraine Valeriy “b1t” Vakhovskiy
Ukraine Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev

Ukraine Andrey “B1ad3” Gorodenskiy (coach)
