Calyx exits Eternal Fire

Eternal Fire have announced the departure of Buğra “Calyx” Arkın from the team with a short statement on Twitter, saying farewell to one of their founding members.

“Every good thing must come to an end. We thank you for fighting with us, shoulder to shoulder, to this day and wish you success in your career,” the statement read, with HLTV.org confirming that the 23-year-old player was not only removed from the active lineup but also released from his contract into free agency.

Calyx is again a free agent

Calyx was a part of Eternal Fire for almost a year, having joined the Turkish superteam project alongside Özgür “woxic” Eker and Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş in August of 2021. The squad struggled initially but found their footing in 2022 when they managed to qualify for the Challengers Stage of the PGL Antwerp Major and peaked at No. 20 in the world ranking.

Eternal Fire recently reached the quarter-finals of Roobet Cup, where they lost to BIG, and the quarter-finals of the Elisa Invitational Spring, where they were taken down by ex-MAD Lions. Their next challenge is ESL Pro League Season 16, slated for September 2022.

The team now has the following players:

Turkey Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş
Turkey Özgür “woxic” Eker
Turkey Ömer “imoRR” Karataş
Turkey Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç

Turkey Timur “bishop” Şengül (coach)
