Young Ninjas bid farewell to three members

NIP have announced changes to their Young Ninjas roster, revealing that Kalle “Ro1f” Johansson and Adrian “7EMPORARY” Mehrara will step down and that head coach Fredrik “slap” Junbrant will move on to “a new exciting project.”

Ro1f was the team’s tied second-longest tenured member alongside head coach slap, with both departing the lineup after just over a year. During that time, Ro1f averaged a 0.95 rating across a number of smaller cups and tournaments, as well as four seasons of the WePlay Academy League.

Ro1f departs the Young Ninjas roster after 13 months

Their best results came early on when Young Ninjas placed second and third, respectively, in the first and second seasons of the league, but they have since failed to achieve the same level of success.

The revamp of their roster in April did little to improve that trajectory as the team continued to struggle, with 15-year-old AWPer 7EMPORARY remaining in the red for all three of the events he played. The other two players who were added at the same time. Max “maxster” Jansson and Adam “adamb” Ångström, had better performances, and will remain on the roster as they look to rebuild in the off-season.

With slap‘s departure, Young Ninjas will also have to find a new leadership figure to head up their talent project. In a follow-up tweet, the organization stated that they are “in the process of finalizing contracts with the latest younglings to join the squad” and that further details would follow in the near future.

After the change, Young Ninjas will be left with:

Sweden Erik “ztr” Gustafsson
Sweden Adam “adamb” Ångström
Sweden Max “maxster” Jansson
