BBL Esports eliminates BIG out of EMEA Challengers 2

BBL Esports takes down BIG on the final day of EMEA’s Challengers 2 group stage in a 2-0 victory. With this loss, BIG ends their group stage run at one win, four losses: last place in Group B. This match ended the playoffs dreams for BIG, with the final slot in EMEA going over to M3 Champions. BBL Esports finishes with the record of two wins, three losses, but fail to qualify for the playoffs. M3 Champions ties BBL’s record and previously won the head-to-head matchup, qualifying them as third place in the group.

BIG took BBL Esports to Ascent for Map 1, taking the initial pistol round with a triple kill from Ceyhun “AslaN” Aslan. BIG racks up six rounds in the first half, but that would be all the Germans would win. BBL Esports would then go on to win round eight and every other round in the map, claiming twelve rounds in a row to close out the map 13-6. Ali “AsLanM4shadoW” Osman led BBL Esports with his star performance on KAY/O, averaging an ACS of 343, one hundred points higher than Nico “Obnoks” Garczarczyk, the second highest at 208.

BBL Esports’ map pick of Haven started with BIG taking seven rounds in the first half on the defending side. The second half would then be dominated by BBL. By winning the defending pistol round, taking and ending the match at 13-10. BIG would only take three attacking rounds from the heroics of Obnoks and Karel “Twisten” Ašenbrener, both scoring quad kills in the rounds that BIG won.

BBL’s victory denies BIG’s ability to make playoffs, with M3 Champions securing the last spot. M3 Champions will face Acend in the first round of Playoffs on June 17, where Guild Esports awaits the winner. On the other side of the bracket, Team Liquid and FunPlus Phoenix square off against each other. The winner proceeds to face Fnatic in the second round.
