The Barbarian Launcher challenge is actually a fun new event in Clash Royale where you get a brand new card to use in your deck as a mandatory. The Barbarian Launcher card is a combination of Barbarian Hut and Mortar. You actually place a Mortar on the map with its original range of attack when you use the card, but instead of shooting rocky balls, the Mortar shoots Barbarians to every location that it recognizes threatening.

The cost of the new special card is 5 Elixir, which is fair regarding the utility it offers to you.
