MultiVersus: How To Play Harley Quinn

Playing Harley Quinn in MultiVersus can make players feel like a bird that’s just learning to fly. She has a great vertical kill move but can be difficult to understand. She can deal out a lot of damage but is a glass canon that also takes a lot of damage. Hence, players need to learn how to master her to use her to the best of their ability. 

This guide serves to help players learn which moves work best for Harley Quinn and which moves might not be the best for players to use. Her skills are great when learned, but players must know which skills to take in and how to use them.

Here are all of the moves in Harley’s arsenal as well as some tips on how players should use them:

Specials

Stuffie Bat (Neutral Special)

  •  Throws a bat plush bomb.
  • Can be thrown in any direction. 
  • Pressing input again detonates the bomb.
  • The move applies Confetti-Confetti applies to Ignite which deals chip damage to an enemy that’s been hit 5 times.
  • All fighters it hits will be knocked back.
  • Harley and her teammates get their jumps back if they’re hit.
  • Harley can throw multiple bombs until she runs out of ammo.
  • The air move does the same thing.
  • These bombs can be placed on Harley as well and detonated without doing damage to her. 
    • The detonation will still hurt enemies so this is great for combos.

Prank Shot (Side Special)

  • Harley will launch herself forward and shoot a glove projectile behind her
  • This is one of Harley’s worst moves, but keep in mind that when combined with a fast fall can do a little bit of chip damage.

Batter Up! (Up Special)

  • Harley will attack upward and deliver a strong baseball bat swing.
  • This move is great for killing players as it can perform a double attack if charged.
  • Batter Up has a huge hitbox and can hit facing away from players.
  • It’s the same in the air.
    • Take advantage of her aerial attack as it can kill at low percentages.
    • This move gives people an upward boost as well so it’s great for chasing opponents.

Jerk-In-The-Box (Down Special)

  • Harley will place a jack-in-the-box bomb that detonates when enemies touch it.
  • Enemies hit will be knocked upward and apply Confetti.
  • Harley’s teammates can jump on it to refresh their air options.
  • Always have as many of these out as possible as players can get a free kill from one placed high enough.

Attacks

Whack (Neutral Ground Attack)

  • Harley charges a mallet swing.
  • This move has a lot of power that other moves don’t. 
  • This move does not have Armor-Armor lets enemies continue the attack without it being broken.
  • This can be a kill move if the enemy is at high health and there is an opening.
  • Players should be careful when using and charging this move as it leaves Harley extremely vulnerable.

Aerial Pummerler  (Neutral Air Attack)

  • Harley charges and swings her mallet beneath her.
  • The hit has a sweet spot–part of the attack that deals more damage–in the second half of the swing.
  • This is a great move as this can be a kill move when the enemy is in high health. 
    • Make sure to hit the sweet spot to try and get a kill if an opponent is at 150.
    • A great way to use this move is to charge it and then fast fall on an opponent.

Clown Combo (Side Attack)

  • A combo of kicks and bat swings that end with an upward swing.
  • This is going to be Harley’s main combo starter.
  • This is going to be a great opening move and stuns players for quite some time.

Flying Kicks (Side Air Attack)

  • Harley throws a combo of kicks and then ends her attack by bouncing off of her enemy.
  • This will be one of Harley’s primary opening moves.

 Heads Up! (Up Ground Attack)

  • Harley will charge an overhead swing. 
  • A full charge will hit with a twirl before the swing.

Confetti Grenade (Up Air Attack)

  • Harley fires her grenade launcher over her head.
  • This move will apply Confetti to enemies.

Slider (Down Ground Attack)

  • The player charges a slide attack.
  • The longer a player charges the attack the farther that Harley will go.
  • If the down attack is clicked again then it combos into a forward kick.
  • This is not the best move, but it has a low profile which means that the attack can hit another opponent with a launch attack, like shaggy, quicker.
  • This attack is used for defensive offense versus being used strictly for the offense.

Boxing Ringer (Down Air Attack)

  • Charge and fire a projectile downward.
  • This will be the players’ main ledge guard as it has little risk since the player is not sent down with the attack.
  • This will have to be practiced as getting the timing and precision right can be difficult.

These extra tips will help players take what they just learned and understand Harley:

  • Harley has great screen control so players will want to take advantage of her Jerk-In-The-Box.
    • Always have one or two out.
    • Keep them close to the ledge or high up.
    • This move can also be used in tight situations to regain a player’s jumps and dodges if they hit it.
  • Harley is great at dealing with enemies who are above or below her so try and set enemies up towards these positions to land kills.
  • Her combo potential is great so players will want to spend extra time in the lab learning her combos.
  • She takes more damage and gets flung further as she’s an assassin.
  • Always keep in mind that to apply Confetti only the first move has to be a Confetti move. The other five hits an opponent needs to get Ignited can be from basic attacks.
    • It’s good to apply Confetti but shouldn’t be prioritized.
