Bilibili Gaming vs Weibo Gaming Preview and Predictions – Worlds 2023

Two teams that were underestimated, Bilibili Gaming vs Weibo Gaming will decide the first participant of the Grand Finals.

The first semi-final of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship is on the horizon! Bilibili Gaming and Weibo Gaming both fought hard to get here, with some surprise wins and losses from both LPL squads. But even though they made it this far, one of them will meet their end in this year’s Worlds, as only one can get into the Grand Finals – who will prevail?

Bilibili Gaming vs Weibo Gaming Preview

Bilibili Gaming

The community has criticized Bilibili Gaming ever since the start of the LPL Summer Split. The Mid-Season Invitational finalists couldn’t replicate their Spring success, but they gathered enough points to get to Worlds as the LPL’s 2nd seed. In the Swiss Stage they faced their nemesis, JD Gaming – and couldn’t beat them, just as they couldn’t defeat T1 in the 3rd Round. However, they were able to beat KT Rolster and Fnatic to get to the edge of qualifying, where they managed to beat G2 Esports after a hard-fought Bo3.

Their job didn’t become easier in the Knockout Stage, where Gen.G was their first opponent. However, after stomping them twice, victory was at arm’s length, but Gen.G managed to bounce back to a 2-2. Bin and co. didn’t falter at the last match, breaking Gen.G’s base open in the toplane after catching Chovy, and ended their Worlds run shortly after to make it to semis.

  • Zenq “Yagao” Qi

Weibo Gaming

Few trusted Weibo Gaming to make it this far. The LPL’s 4th seed surprised everyone by qualifying for Worlds, as their “superteam” struggled in Summer. They even suffered a loss at the hands of G2 Esports in the Swiss Stage, which concerned TheShy fans greatly. However, they managed to bounce back and get to the Knockout Stage, where they destroyed NRG for the second time, beating them 3-0 on this occasion.

The biggest issue Weibo Gaming has is that they didn’t beat any LPL or LCK teams to get to the semi-finals, while their only Korean opponent, KT Rolster beat them – time to prove the world that they belong here!

Bilibili Gaming vs Weibo Gaming Predictions

Even though Weibo Gaming is an LPL team, they are much slower than other representatives of their region. They also can’t make as much use of the Barons as other squads, while Bilibili Gaming proved that they just needed to ramp up during Swiss, as 3 out of their 5 matches against Gen.G were one sided. One thing’s for sure, TheShy vs Bin will be one of the most exciting lanes of Worlds – but Weibo Gaming needs to be on their best performance in order to get to the Finals against the clear favourites of this bout.
