The dust has settled following the conclusion of the status quo-altering IEM Rio Major, where all the favorites faltered as Outsiders took the competition by surprise and lifted the coveted trophy.
A week has passed since the Brazilian event, and many of the same names who tried their luck at the Major in the first half of November are ready to return for another chance to grab silverware at the BLAST Premier Fall Final, taking place from November 23-27.
The Royal Arena will host the semi-finals and grand final on the weekend
The home team of Heroic arrives in Copenhagen with momentum behind them, having just made it to the grand final at the IEM Rio Major and climbing to the No. 2 spot in HLTV’s World Ranking, becoming BLAST Premier Fall Final’s highest-ranked team.
FaZe enter the event with the most to prove and with a chance to redeem themselves following their shocking winless exit from the Legends Stage just two weeks ago. Natus Vincere and Liquid had been among the teams in with a chance to lift the trophy in Rio as well, and they’ll also look to the Danish event for redemption after leaving Brazil disappointed in 5th-8th and 9th-11th place, respectively.

BLAST Premier Fall Final to run on pre-update CS:GO version
Both part of Group A in Copenhagen, OG and Ninjas in Pyjamas did not meet their expectations in Rio either. Nemanja “nexa” Isaković‘s team just missed out on a place in the Legends Stage after a final-round showdown with Vitality, while Ninjas in Pyjamas went 0-3 in the second Swiss phase.
Over in Group B are the only two teams in attendance who did not play at the Major. One of them are G2, who will be looking to prove their failure to qualify for Rio was just a one-time stumble, and the other are Fluxo, entering the Fall Final as by far the lowest-ranked and least-experienced team.
These are the groups of the BLAST Premier Fall Final. They will be played in a shortened double-elimination format, awarding the winning side advancement to the semi-finals — and a guaranteed Royal Arena appearance — and the second and third-placed teams a spot in the quarter-finals.
The competition will span five days, starting in a studio setting from Wednesday to Friday up to the quarter-finals before moving on stage to the Royal Arena for the semi-finals and grand final on the weekend.
