Boston Uprising Sign Contenders DPS Seeker

The moves just keep on coming for the Uprising organization. Just a couple days after the team released their longtime General Manager Chris “Huk” Loranger, Boston has made another move – this time on the player side. On Wednesday June 29, the Boston Uprising announced the signing of Contenders DPS player Alex “Seeker” Taylor. Seeker joins the team as its third DPS player.

Seeker has played on several different teams in a few different Contenders regions. Most notably Seeker has played in North American Contenders on Darkmode, Revival and Noble.

The announcement of the new DPS players comes just half way through the Midseason Madness qualifier stage. Boston sit at 1-2 in this split, and the team is looking to slowly improve with each game. Seeker will most likely help the team behind the scenes, as he is ineligible to play until July. Seeker has yet hit the age requirement to play in OWL.

This is not an uncommon occurrence in the Overwatch League. Several teams have signed players while knowing they cannot perform until later in the year. Luckily for Boston, they won’t have to wait very long. The team plans on having Seeker be a key part to their success in the Summer Showdown.

Seeker joins Byeong-ju “Valentine” Kim and Gi-hun “Victoria” Oh on the Uprising DPS line. Seeker is a highly flexible player, having to play a little bit of everything through his time in Contenders. His ability to fill in DPS gaps should be pivotal for Boston to make a mid-season recovery.
