Broken Doom Shotgun Finally Nerfed in Warzone

Broken Doom Shotgun Finally Nerfed in Warzone

After a loud public outcry from the Call of Duty community, the broken Doom Shotgun finally got nerfed in Warzone.

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 introduced a handful of weapon changes that brought the Lockwood 300 Shotgun to the forefront of the meta. Both casual and professional players instantly noticed the buffed gun’s ability to one-shot players, and Warzone lobbies, especially Resurgence matches, were quickly dominated by the OP weapon.

Instead of addressing the issues, Activision released the paid Tracer Pack: DOOM Bundle in honor of Halloween. Along with a cool Chainsaw Melee, the Bundle also included a Pro-Tuned “Super Shotgun” Weapon Blueprint featuring a Pixel Spray Death Effect. More people abused the one-shot weapon than ever before, forcing the latest patch notes to nef the Doom Shotgun.

Just a few days after its release in the Store, the broken Doom Shotgun finally got nerfed in Warzone. The Oct. 11 Patch Notes delivered the following changes to the Lockwood 300 Maelstrom Dual Trigger:

Now, the Doom Shotgun will no longer instantly kill enemies from absurd distances, hopefully resetting the Warzone meta and limiting the amount of enraging close-quarter gunfights.

Here’s all the weapon buffs and nerfs in the Warzone Oct. 11 patch notes, per Activision.
