CS:GO update brings changes to M4A1-S and Ancient

Since its previous change in September 2021, the power of the M4A1-S has been a topic of debate among the community following the buff to body damage which combined with its lower price compared to the M4A4 and lack of tracer bullets convinced several members of the community that the rifle was too strong.

To address the concerns, Valve has reduced the magazine size of the M4A1-S from 25 to 20, reversing a buff brought in March 2019. The reserve ammunition was accordingly changed from 75 to 80.

Ancient received a few changes with the new update

Additional changes in this patch include several changes to Ancient, mainly focused on and around the “cave” area and the two bombsites. Inferno’s bomb explosion damage was increased while Vertigo, Cache, and Vineyard also received minor updates of their own.

As things stand, BLAST Premier Spring Final 2022 will continue to run on the old patch for the remainder of the tournament, leaving the M4A1-S and Ancient in their previous state.
