Diablo 4 Druid Spirit Boons: Which Boons should you choose from Wolf, Eagle, Deer, and Snake Spirits?

Diablo 4 Druid Spirit Boons: Which Boons should you choose from Wolf, Eagle, Deer, and Snake Spirits?

By delivering Druidid Spirit Offerings to the animal spirits in Túl Dúlra, Druids in Diablo 4 gain access to Spirit Boons. These passive buffs can hugely improve your current build when combined with specific skills. This guide explores the best Spirit Boons to choose for each of the four spirits (Deer, Eagle, Wolf, and Snake), as well as the best spirit to bond with.

Note: If you’ve never played a Druid, we have a guide on the best early-game build to get you up to scratch.

How to Unlock Spirit Boons in Diablo 4

To unlock Spirit Boons in Diablo 4, your character must be level 15 and have conquered the Túr Dúlra Stronghold in Scosglen. We aren’t just handed our specialization system, unlike some other classes. Túr Dúlra is tough to defeat at lower levels, but we highly recommend diverting the beaten path and claiming it as soon as possible.

Once Túr Dúlra is reclaimed, continue the short Quest you’re given to unlock access to the four animal spirits. By now, you will have noticed Druidic Spirit Offerings dropping alongside regular loot when slaying enemies. Every 25 Druidic Spirit Offerings given to a Spirit will unlock a new Boon, up to the maximum of 100 offerings.

Only one Boon per Spirit can be active at one time, except for your Bonded Spirit, which allows an additional Boon to be chosen. That’s a total of five active Boons once you’ve provided the max amount of Offerings for each spirit. Boons can be switched anytime for free in the Spirit Boons menu next to the Abilities/Skill Tree tab.

Best Druid Eagle Spirit Boon in Diablo 4

The best Eagle Spirit Boon for your Druid will depend entirely on your build and difficulty. Avian Wrath is a fantastic option for many Druid builds, increasing the damage of Critical Strikes by a considerable 30%.

Scythe Talons is more suited to builds that use Toxic Claws and similar Abilities that depend on Crit. Iron Feather increases your maximum Life by 10%, which can be an excellent option for any Druid playing Hardcore or just feeling a little too squishy.

I personally Bonded with the Eagle to pick both Scythe Talons and Avian Wrath. Scythe Talons synergize with the Packleader Wolf Boon to increase how often my Companion skills are reset, while Avian Wrath improves my overall damage output.

Best Druid Deer Spirit Boon in Diablo 4

Wariness is considered the best overall Deer Spirit Boon for Druids in Diablo 4. This reduces the damage taken from Elite enemies (including bosses) by 10%, which can be enough to survive potentially deadly situations.

As a Druid main focused on a Werewolf build, I opted to go for Gift of the Stag, which increases Maximum Spirit by 10. This may be a better option for those finding themselves regularly running out of Spirit.

Best Druid Wolf Spirit Boon in Diablo 4

If you’re using a Companion, Packleader is the best Wolf Spirit Boon by far. Having such a high chance for your cooldown to be reset is invaluable, especially with Companions like Poison Creeper. As mentioned above, this also synergizes well with Scythe Talon to proc more often.

Builds focused around an Ultimate Ability will benefit from Calamity, which increases their duration by a decent 25%. Bolster is also an option for more survivability, while Energize can aid with Spirit generation on Lucky Hits.

Best Druid Snake Spirit Boon in Diablo 4

The Snake Spirit has a range of powerful Boons suited for all builds. Any Druid that shapeshifts will want to pick Masochistic, which causes Critical Strikes while Shapeshifted to heal you for 3% of your Maximum Life automatically. Calm Before the Storm is also a brilliant choice if you’ve chosen an Ultimate ability, reducing its cooldown for 2 seconds on Lucky Hits with Nature Magic.

While the two Boons mentioned above are the most popular, Obisidan Slam can work well in a build heavily focused on survivability. Overload is the least popular choice, but it can work fine on a build purely focused on Lightning damage.

Which Druid Animal Spirit should you bond with in Diablo 4?

The most popular Animal Spirit to bond with in Diablo 4 is the Snake Spirit. This is because Masochistic and Calm Before the Storm synergize incredibly well with Shapeshifting and Ultimate abilities — both of which are prevalent in meta Druid builds.

The Eagle Spirit is usually a better option for builds that don’t involve Shapeshifting and using an Ultimate Ability. As mentioned earlier, combining Scythe Talons and Avian Wrath can be deadly when paired with the right Abilities.

Don’t be afraid to experiment; there are no punishments for regularly switching your Boons or the spirit you’ve Bonded with. Finetuning your Abilities and Specializations to find the perfect playstyle for you can be one of the most enjoyable aspects of playing Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 is available on PC through Battle.net.
