djL to miss GET Dubai grand final

NIP‘s coach has contracted COVID ahead of the team’s title decider against MOUZ.

NIP has announced that their COO, Jonas “calc” Gundersen, will stand behind the team in the Global Esports Tour Dubai grand final after Daniel “djL” Narancic tested positive for COVID.

The news came just hours before the Swedish squad is scheduled to go up against MOUZ at 18:30 with hopes of securing their first title in 2022 without two key members.

djL will have to watch the team from the sidelines

On top of missing djL in the upcoming title decider, NIP also had their in-game leader, Hampus “hampus” Poser, sit out the last two events due to having fallen ill, with academy player Erik “ztr” Gustafsson replacing him at IEM Dallas and in Dubai.

As for Gundersen, it won’t be the first time that the COO and former professional CS 1.6 player will stand behind the team, as he previously fulfilled coaching duties in place of Björn “THREAT” Pers late last year.

NIP will have the following team lock horns with MOUZ on the Dubai stage:

Sweden Fredrik “REZ” Sterner
Sweden Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin
Sweden Nicolas “Plopski” Gonzalez Zamora
Denmark Patrick “es3tag” Hansen
Sweden Erik “ztr” Gustafsson

Denmark Jonas “calc” Gundersen (coach)
