Does F1 22 Have Crossplay?

Does F1 22 have crossplay?

Now that the worldwide official launch of F1 22 has come and gone for those on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, it’s perhaps no surprise that many are wondering whether or not the game supports cross-platform play. As such, here’s a breakdown of whether or not F1 22 has crossplay.

Unfortunately, at the time of publication, F1 22 does not support crossplay.

However, the feature is said to be coming to the game in a post-launch update soon.

As reported by Toby Durant at RacingGamesGG, Codemasters senior creative director Lee Mather confirmed that the team they partnered with to do the crossplay work was located in Ukraine. As such, it’s going to take “a little bit longer than expected” to implement since safety is being prioritized over producing the work.

Although EA Sports’ F1 series has been released for PlayStation, Xbox and PC throughout the years, there has yet to be crossplay support in the series between different consoles or PC.

Considering that cross-platform play is supported in other popular sports video game franchises like FIFA, MLB The Show, DIRT 5 and GRID Legends, it’s easy to understand why many in the F1 community are calling for the feature to be added.

We will update this article once more information on the topic is released, so feel free to check back soon.

F1 22 was released worldwide for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC on July 1, 2022. EA Play (via Early Access Trial) and EA Play Pro subscribers, as well as those who purchase the Champions Edition, have had early access to the game since June 28.
