EG.CD to field stanislaw and RUSH in ESL Challenger League

Evil Geniuses announced the return of Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz to the organization while his old OpTic teammate, William “RUSH” Wierzba, returns to activity after a week on the bench.

The duo will replace Anthony “CLASIA” Kearney and Jadan “HexT” Postma in EG.CD for ESL Challenger League Season 42 North America as the former was benched in early August due to issues outside of the server while the latter was promoted to the main Evil Geniuses lineup.

stanislaw returns to Evil Geniuses after departing in 2021

stanislaw and RUSH both played under the OpTic banner until February 2017, when the Canadian in-game leader parted ways with the organization. During their time together, the duo was part of one of the most exciting North American squads of the period, taking several respectable placings at international events before lifting the trophy at ELEAGUE Season 2.

RUSH went on to play for Cloud9 and Complexity, winning silverware with both organizations, including a Major trophy with the former at ELEAGUE Major 2018. Following his departure from Complexity, the 28-year-old rifler joined Evil Geniuses ahead of the 2022 season and after a series of disappointing results, he was moved to the bench in early August.

The Canadian IGL became a journeyman in the North American scene after his time in OpTic, playing for the likes of Liquid and Complexity before landing on NRG — the team that was later acquired by Evil Geniuses. The squad went on to claim trophies at ESL One New York 2019 and StarSeries i-League Season 8 alongside three online events in 2020.

RUSH and stanislaw played together between 2015 and 2017

stanislaw departed Evil Geniuses in November 2021 when the team failed to reestablish itself as a dominant force in the North American scene. After a short break, the Canadian returned to competition with Disconnected and later, BHOP.

Evil Geniuses announced the acquisition of Carpe Diem and Party Astronauts in June as part of the Blueprint Project, aiming to promote North American talent in a fluid, 15-man roster. Both the main Evil Geniuses roster and EG.CD have since gone through changes in their lineups to improve results and promote in-house talent.
