Fall Guys: How To Unlock The Fall Throttle Achievement

In its first week on Xbox, the free-to-play title Fall Guys has absolutely dominated the gameplay charts, accruing more than 20 million unique players in its first two days after launch. With its Xbox release comes a plentiful achievement list, consisting of 34 achievements worth 1000 Gamerscore. Those who played the game when it was first released for Steam, or who have played it previously on Epic Games or PlayStation, should already be very familiar with this list — it is the exact same.

The Fall Throttle achievement in Fall Guys is unlocked by having the controlled bean reach terminal velocity, the maximum speed at which the game allows. The achievement is worth 10G and is something that may come naturally by chance. However, there are a few different ways to knock it out more effectively.

How To Unlock Fall Throttle In Fall Guys

To unlock this achievement, players are going to want to jump into a solo show. The particular stage to look for is the Season 6 addition, Airtime, a Hunt map for between 15 and 45 players. This is by far the easiest stage to unlock Fall Throttle, as it provides players with repeated opportunities to attempt it every time. 15-45 players means that the stage won’t appear in the first round, so advancing past that is the first requirement. Hunt stages are most common in the third and fourth rounds, though it’s not impossible to see it as early as the second.

The goal for Airtime is rather simple. Players need to stay at the top of the map, using various obstacles to keep themselves airborne and in the score zone where they earn points. If a player falls, they will funnel down into some vacuum tubes that return them to the top of the map, though they will lose precious scoring time during this process. Alternatively, lucky players may land on one of the square pink launchpads (officially called Slingus Flinguses) at the bottom of the map, which will spring them back up into the score zone much quicker.

Luckily for achievement hunters, these launchpads spring characters at maximum speed, meaning that deliberately jumping out of the score zone and onto one will cause the achievement to unlock. If a player misses their mark, they can simply use the vacuum tubes to get back up to the top level and try again. Players will have until the round completely ends to get a successful leap. There is a good chance that anyone who goes for this will be eliminated from the episode in doing so, but it’s worth it for the 10G.

Now, it is entirely luck-based whether or not Airtime comes up in an episode, so some players may not want to rely entirely on it. There are plenty of other levels where Fall Throttle can be unlocked. In particular, most levels with fast-moving obstacles can be used, as these obstacles can launch players far distances. Players should keep an eye out for pinball flippers, projectiles, large swinging hammers, and must be willing to risk elimination by allowing these obstacles to fling them off the map. With a bit of luck, players may see their achievement unlock.

The Fall Guys achievement list is quite demanding, requiring players to win 20 episodes, unlock 50 cosmetics, reach Level 40 fame in a season, and even win five episodes in a row, among other things. Enjoy unlocking these short and sweet miscellaneous achievements like Fall Throttle before the real grind begins.
