Helldivers 2 Announced With Gameplay

Last year, a leaked video of Helldivers 2 footage was prematurely released showing about 10 seconds of game footage. This year instead of pulling their trailers from the internet, Sony finally released the official trailer for Helldivers 2.

At the PlayStation Showcase on May 24, Arrowhead Game Studios unveiled Helldivers 2. Not only was Helldivers 2 officially confirmed to later launch this year coming to PC and PS5, but new gameplay footage was also shown off. The trailer showed off the new environments, combat against new aliens, and even a glimpse at the harvest features. Helldivers 2 is a title where gamers will join a group of peacekeepers to spread peace and democracy. Helldivers 2 will be the first PlayStation Studios game to launch simultaneously on PC and PS5.

The Original

The original Helldivers was released in 2015 game by the same studio in charge of Helldivers 2. Although the studio remains the same Arrowhead Game Studios decided to switch some things up. Helldivers 2 will be scrapping the top-down shooter concept and will be going for the full-fledged third-person shooter style.

Last year, the leaked trailer was using a mix of gameplay and game engine footage describing how Aliens are taking over with democracy herself hanging in the balance. With 8 years passing since the original’s release gamers are wondering how much else has changed with the newest installment, potentially for the better or potentially for the worse.

Helldivers 2 was officially revealed at the PlayStation Showcase 2023 presentation on May 24, 2023. The title has a launch window for some time in 2023.
