How to Get Magma Animated Camo in MW3 Vortex Event

Fans can now get the Magma Animated Camo in the MW3 Vortex event for free simply by participating in the new LTM.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is replacing CODMAS with the Vortex, a new limited-time event and mode that brings Hell to Rust, Scrapyard, and Quarry. The three multiplayer maps feature new designs for players to explore as they play the new free-for-all experience in MW3. The LTM encourages players to get their hands on the all-powerful Ray Gun from Zombies to help them collect enough kills to reach the match-ending target.

Like any Call of Duty event, there are free rewards, including a new Mastery Camo, that players can earn. Here’s a breakdown of how to unlock the Magma Animated Camo in the Vortex event.

To get the Magma Animated Camo in MW3, fans must participate in the Vortex event. The new Mastery Camo is the final reward offered in the limited-time event. As fans play Tetanus, Satan’s Quarry, and Sporeyard, they will come closer and closer to unlocking the Magma Animated Camo.

The Magma Animated Camo features a black and orange design, perfect for the hellish update in MW3. The animated magma resembles the lava and fire covering Satan’s Quarry. The camo will add a spooky, Halloween inspired flare to your weapon of choice. In fact, it looks straight out of The Haunting event.

Along the way, there are other rewards players can earn as well, including Double XP Tokens and other cosmetics, like a Calling Card and Emblem.

The MW3 Vortex event ends on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024. At the time of writing, fans have the next two weeks to complete the event and unlock the Magma Animated Camo.

Once the Vortex event concludes, Season 1 Reloaded will drop. The midseason update to both MW3 and Warzone will include the highly anticipated second crossover with Prime Video’s The Boys, bringing A-Train and Firecracker to Call of Duty.

Multiplayer Ranked Play will also finally launch in MW3 Season 1 Reloaded. Fans will finally have the chance to see how they match up against Call of Duty players from around the world in Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and Control under the CDL ruleset.
