How To Use Discord On Xbox

After years of waiting Xbox gamers now can connect to Discord on their choice of consoles. Users will be able to talk directly with their friends on Discord using the Xbox mobile app. Here’s how gamers can use the application.

How To Connect

Currently, only Xbox Insiders have access to this new innovative feature on Xbox. The feature will be rolling out to everyone else later this year.

First, gamers must connect their Xbox account to their Discord account. If players have ever connected these two accounts before, they need to connect them again to grant the new permissions needed to access voice on the Xbox console.

Connecting both of the accounts allows for the display of players’ Gamertag, current game activity, and how long they’ve been playing a game in their user profile. This also allows for the ability to use voice chat directly on the Xbox console.

Transferring Calls

To successfully make this feature work the Discord call on either a phone or desktop must be transferred to the Xbox Mobile App. Once in the voice channel on Discord on either mobile or desktop, there will be a new option. That new option will be to transfer the call to the Xbox. The mobile app will automatically open up with a prompt stating it’s ready to connect the Xbox to the Discord voice channel. Finally, in the mobile app, hit confirm. Players can then plug in a headset and chat away with their friends. The transferring voice calls supports Voice channels within servers, Direct Messages, and Group DMs.
