How to use the fly cheat in Ark Survival Ascended

If you want to make Ark Survival Ascended a much easier and more fun experience, you can use the fly console command. There are tons of console commands to choose from but flying makes exploration easy.

Only PC players can use console commands and, as is the case for many other games, I’m fairly certain that if you use console commands in ASA, you lock yourself out of earning achievements. Also, console commands don’t work on official servers. Now that you know the rules, here’s how to fly in Ark Survival Ascended.

How to activate fly console command in Ark Survival Ascended

To enable the fly cheat in Ark Survival Ascended, all you need to do is press the tilde symbol, “~,” and type in “fly.” Press enter and, just like that, you’re flying in Ark Survival Ascended. And you didn’t even need a mount!

A few things you should know about flying in Ark Survival Ascended. First, you fly super fast so I recommend feathering the movement controls so your character doesn’t move faster than your camera is able to. Second, if you go too high, you die. I use the tops of the clouds as a good reference for where the death ceiling is.

How to turn off fly in Ark Survival Ascended

The first time I used the fly console command in Ark Survival Ascended, I didn’t know how to come back down which is a major problem if you want to use fly to explore easily but want to come back down to enjoy the game how it should be played again.

To turn the fly cheat off in Ark Survival Ascended, all you need to do is press the tilde again, “~,” to bring up console commands and then type “walk.” Press enter and the fly cheat will deactivate. Now, you’re back on the ground and can play Ark Survival Ascended normally… that is until you want to fly again.
