Kevin Durant Traded to the Phoenix Suns

Kevin Durant has been traded to the Phoenix Suns along with T.J. Warren. In return, the Nets will receive Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Cam Johnson, four first-round picks and a 2028 pick swap. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report the news.

Durant wanted a trade out of Brooklyn, which was noted after Kyrie Irving was sent to Dallas. The 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game for the Nets. He will be joined on the trade to Phoenix by Warren, who is scoring 9.5 points per game.

The Nets are receiving Bridges, who is 26 and averaging 17.2 points per game. Johnson is scoring 13.9 points per game. They are also netting Crowder who has not played this season for the Suns. Brooklyn will explore flipping him at the trade deadline. The Nets will also be receiving the four first-round picks and the pick swap, as they now head into a rebuild.

With the trade, the Suns will pair Durant with Chris Paul, Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton as they look to compete for an NBA Championship. The Suns currently sit in fifth-place in the Western Conference standings with a 30-26 record.
