The LCS is back for the Summer with most teams making a few changes. Each of these teams will be duking it out to not only win an LCS Championship but also to get the chance to go to Worlds 2023. As a reminder, there is a chance for four teams to go this year, so that fourth spot will be extremely important. Here are the LCS Picks for Week 5 of the 2023 Summer Split.

LCS Picks Week 5 Summer 2023 Day 1

TSM vs. DIG

Insanity is finally getting the chance to show how solid he is. Dignitas have been up and down all split but did take down TSM last Split. This is an extremely important game for both teams in terms of where they end up in the standings. The difference this time is actually Insanity and just how much better TSM play with him. They take the first win of the week here.

Prediction: TSM Win

EG vs. GG

This should be one of if not the best game of the week. Two teams fighting for the top of the standings. Evil Geniuses still feel like they have areas where they can be attacked and while Golden Guardians have the same, they understand what they have to do to shore those up in game. This one goes to Golden Guardians but just barely.

Prediction: GG Win

FLY vs. NRG

Two teams playing well below where they should. FlyQuest are making a change to Spirax over Vicla for this week. Will it help? NRG have been just about as inconsistent but at least they are not making a mid-split change. This is a coinflip but the lack of a change in their lineup gives it to NRG.

Prediction: NRG Win

C9 vs. TL

Team Liquid were able to take down Cloud9 in their last meeting. This time that shouldn’t happen. Just looking at things historically, this is around the time that Cloud9 starts to ramp things up and go on a run. Look for them to start cementing their place in first with this game.

Prediction: C9 Win

100T vs. IMT

If there is a team that needed a game against Immortals to start off the week, well, truthfully, 100 Thieves would only be one of them. That being said it should help them get back into the hunt and inch them closer to securing a playoff spot.

Prediction: 100T Win

LCS Picks Week 5 Summer 2023 Day 2

NRG vs. DIG

Talent wise this game should not be close. But again, the inconsistencies of specifically Contractz and Dhokla are keeping NRG from reaching their full potential. To be clear, NRG is the pick here, but Dignitas could absolutely win this game if Dhokla gets lazy against Rich.

Prediction: NRG Win

EG vs. FLY

Time for the first gut pick of the week. Evil Geniuses are due for a small regression for playoffs and Spirax will play better in his second stage game. Again this is just a feeling pick because everything else screams that Evil Geniuses should walk over FlyQuest here.

Prediction: FLY Win

TSM vs. TL

Let the good times roles, right? TSM look like a completely different team with Insanity. They are more cohesive and seemingly know where and when to make their plays. Team Liquid play their lanes strong and are extremely inconsistent in teamfights. APA has seemingly stabilized that so it gives TL the advantage but this is a really close game.

Prediction: TL Win

C9 vs. 100T

This will be another close game but Cloud9 are still the cream of the crop and it would take 100 Thieves putting everything together for them to take down C9.

Prediction: C9 Win

IMT vs. GG

Day two ends with a game that should be pretty one-sided. Golden Guardians are scaling while IMT are in freefall.

Prediction: GG Win

LCS Picks Week 5 Summer 2023 Day 3

FLY vs. TL

It is either FlyQuest wins all three of these games or none it seems. The first two picks were losses so the third goes the way of Team Liquid.

Prediction: TL Win

100T vs. TSM

Kinda crazy to think that this could be the last time these teams play each other. Regardless, this one will be closer than many people might think. When it comes down to it, Bugi is willing to push the early game more and against a team as passive at 100 Thieves, this feels like it should be an advantage. TSM win this last regular season matchup against a major rival.

Prediction: TSM Win

GG vs. NRG

Until NRG find some consistency it is hard to even consider picking them against one the top teams. Golden Guardians get the win here.

Prediction: GG Win

EG vs. C9

Another great game near the end of the week. People have been doubting EG and they will have the chance to prove all the haters wrong. This team is solid and will push Cloud9 to the brink but will not be able to take them down.

Prediction: C9 Win

IMT vs. DIG

Hard to pick Immortals in any game so even with Dignitas sliding into this game they should be favored and rightly so. Dignitas get the win.

Prediction: DIG Win
