The LEC is back for the Summer with some teams making a lot of changes and others sticking with their five from the Spring. Each of these teams will be duking it out to not only win an LEC Championship but also to get the chance to go to Worlds. With that people may be wondering who to pick on their way to Worlds. Here are the LEC Picks for Week 5 of the 2022 Summer Split.

LEC Picks Week 5 Summer 2022 Day 1
Team BDS vs. SK Gaming
What would have been a battle of the worsts and might have been interesting looks like it might be a blowout. SK going 2-0 and playing well against teams much better than BDS gives them the major advantage here.
Prediction: Sk Gaming Win
Misfits vs. Excel
Simply put this is a matchup of one team that knows how to come back and one team that does not know how to finish games. While that would maybe mean that Misfits should be able to come back from an early game deficit, it feels like Excel have an easier path to victory. They are the better team and will likely be focusing a lot on how to close out their leads during practice this week. Look for Excel to get back on track this week.
Prediction: Excel Win
Vitality vs. MAD Lions
The MAD Lions are really starting to hit their stride. Even with Vitality playing better they are still way too volatile to be picked with consistency against top teams. This one may be close but MAD Lions are the better team.
Prediction: MAD Lions Win
G2 Esports vs. Astralis
At one point this game would have been a no-brainer pick for G2 esports. Now though, it seems like Astralis might have the upper hand. G2 are free falling down the standings and will need to find some way to stop. They better hope it is this week or it could be the end of G2’s summer. That said they should win here, they are the better team after all.
Prediction: G2 Esports Win
Rogue vs. Fnatic
This one is going to be fun. Two great teams battling it out. One needing a win to get back in the hunt for first and the other trying to continue being king of the hill. Fnatic have certainly had their issues this split but this feels like a get-right game for them. Look for the jungle to be contested and Razork winning out on those trades to help Fnatic get another one in the win column.
Prediction: Fnatic Win
LEC Picks Week 5 Summer 2022 Day 2
Team BDS vs. Astralis
After a likely loss against G2, Astralis need to win here. They are in the hunt and this will be their last chance at what should be a guaranteed win. BDS are just bad right now and Astralis have the ability to blow right past them. Expect them to do just that.
Prediction: Astralis Win
SK Gaming vs. MAD Lions
While SK are coming off a great week, it is not wise to pick against the Lions. MAD are truly at the top of their game and there is no reason why SK should keep them from continuing that. Look for MAD to roll this one.
Prediction: MAD Lions Win
Vitality vs. Misfits
Vetheo is a star and there is no if ands or buts about it. He should be enough to take down Vitality but luckily his whole team is playing well right now. This one will be close and Misfits may fall behind early but they will solve the late-game teamfights.
Prediction: Misfits Win
Rogue vs. G2 Esports
This game could have been one of the best of the week. It likely still can. That is completely up to G2 and whether or not they have solved what is causing their major slump. Rogue are a really solid team from top to bottom and that is more than enough to predict a win here.
Prediction: Rogue Win
Fnatic vs. Excel
Excel are another team looking to find their footing. With the way things are going this may be a matchup that gives this team their first win in four games. Fnatic are great but they seem to struggle a bit with teams that play aggressively early. Excel are one of those teams and they should get a big enough lead early to hold on and win what should be the game of the week.
