MAD Lions throw another early game lead against Misfits and drop to 4-3. Astralis could not get it done versus Vitality with their best champions.

Team Vitality vs Astralis

I had this game chalked up as a potential banger upset given how underrated Astralis seem to be and how trash Vitality is.

While it didn’t quite come to pass as I had theorized, it doesn’t take a League genius to figure out that this game was a slow, rather painful fiesta from two mid-table teams.

While being mid-table is a career achievement for almost all of the Astralis lineup, it is definitely not the case with Vitality.

The superteam looks anemic in its approach, lacking basic coordination around topside plays. Alphari’s biggest, and quite frankly only, strength is his laning phase and the team’s coordination structure should support his aggressive playstyle.

Honestly, it was quite disappointing to see Astralis lose this game with many of their key picks: Dajor’s Vex was his go-to last split, Kobbe’s Xayah is his most famous pick and JeongHoon is starting to look like a baby Hylissang on the Rakan.

I was excited for this roster given their early run of form, but if they can’t even beat a discombobulated Vitality with their best champions, they might just cap out at 7th place this year.

MAD Lions vs Misfits

The first time MAD Lions threw a big gold lead, we all chalked it up to Comp’s lucky Elder Dragon steal. Fair enough.

However, a similar trend seems to be brewing for the Lions as they once again throw another lead to Misfits, this time in quite exciting fashion.

MAD Lions started the game off thick and fast owing to Nisqy’s sick proactivity, setting up picks for UNF0RGIVEN to knock down, and the game seemed over for Misfits.

However, Shaltan had a stormer of a game on his signature Lee Sin pick, pulling off dazzling plays to punish MAD’s small mistakes and keep his team afloat.

Mersa’s Renata ultimates were also a huge factor in the latest Misfits comeback, as these tight corridors basically guaranteed the ultimate hitting all five Lions, rendering them helpless against the rabbits’ onslaught.
