Manchester City will begin their preparations for the 2022-23 season by playing Club America in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday night with kickoff at 3:30 am.

Manchester City won England’s top flight for the eighth time last season, finishing one point clear of second-place Liverpool at the summit. But Man City certainly did it the hard way on the final weekend.

Meanwhile, America lost 2-1 to Chelsea in a pre-season friendly on Saturday; Timo Werner gave the Blues the lead before an own goal from Reece James levelled things up, but Mason Mount scored late on to give Thomas Tuchel’s side victory in Las Vegas.

Millonetas signed five new players ahead of their new season, with the standout addition being Uruguayan Jonathan Rodriguez, who arrived in a £5m deal from Al-Nassr.
