Marlon Mack Released by the Texans

The Houston Texans have released a running back. Marlon Mack has been cut after joining the Texans on April 11, 2022. He had previously been an Indianapolis Colt for his entire career, but was not retained for the 2022 season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.

Mack was drafted out of the University of South Florida in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. He was the AAC Rookie of the Year and a three-time First Team All-AAC in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

In his career, Mack has played in 47 games, rushed 567 times for 2,484 yards and 20 touchdowns. His best year came in 2019, when he started 12 games, rushed 247 times for over 1,000 yards and scored eight touchdowns. He did score 10 total touchdowns in 2018, but did not play or rush for as much.
