Marvel’s Avengers slashes prices on skins and other DLC

Marvel’s Avengers is slashing the prices on premium skins and other cosmetic items in the game’s online marketplace.

To celebrate Halloween, players can unlock costumes for Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, and other Avengers characters for around half their usual price.

Of course, there are caveats to this. The Marvel’s Avengers sale is only available from now until November 4, 2022. Not only that, the discount applies to selected DLC – however, a quick look at the marketplace shows that most costumes (including those based on the MCU) have seen a welcome price drop.

Overpriced DLC is currently one of the game’s biggest issues. Although character cosmetics are completely optional and offer no gameplay advantages, Square Enix have been baiting Marvel fans into spending silly amounts of money.

Marvel’s Avengers cross-play and 5 other improvements we need

However, it has to be noted that all playable content since launch has been added for free. This includes three sizeable expansions, adding three additional playable characters: Kate Bishop, Hawkeye, and Black Panther. What’s next for Marvel’s Avengers? As we push into Autumn and through to the end of the year, we’ll gain access to the Klaw raid. This is the first raid coming to Marvel’s Avengers, designed for four players.

What about Spider-Man? Right now, developer Crystal Dynamics haven’t set a firm release date for its Spider-Man expansion though he’s due to arrive by the end of 2021. According to the developer’s roadmap for Marvel’s Avengers, this will happen during the autumn or early winter.
