Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Might Not Be Revealed Until September

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will reportedly receive no new announcement regarding the Multiplayer section in August 2022, as Tom Henderson reveals.

According to the leaker, his sources have confirmed that the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer announcement has been set for September this year before the Beta sessions begin. According to a previous leak, Activision and Infinity Ward are planning to launch the Beta for Multiplayer in mid-September, which means we can expect an announcement for the Multiplayer modes in the first half of September 2022.

This also falls in line with the two previous Call of Duty games as both Vanguard and Black Ops Cold War received multiplayer announcements on the first of September 2021 and September 2020, respectively.

Henderson didn’t share any details on the announcement party, but he assumes that Activision will probably reveal the multiplayer modes for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 in a live stream with some of the key developers.

Earlier in June 2022, Activision officially revealed the campaign mode for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War with an in-depth gameplay trailer. Since then, the developers have been pretty tight-lipped about the game, not sharing a single piece of new information so far.

According to Infinity Ward, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is supposed to mark the beginning of a new era in this highly popular shooter series. In addition to a campaign mode as well as some rumored brand new multiplayer modes, Infinity Ward is also working on Warzone 2, which will take things to the next level in Activision’s Battle Royale hit.

It’s yet to be seen whether the Multiplayer announcement would have any new information or a sneak peek at Warzone 2, but regarding the fact that the Warzone sequel seems like a standalone project, it might have its own announcement when it’s ready to launch.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 targets a late October 2022 launch. If you pre-order the game, you will receive free Early Access to the Beta version of multiplayer modes. Also, PlayStation players will likely have more days to try out Beta than other platforms.
