Monster Hunting Cheatsheet Arctic Flipper

Monster Hunting Cheatsheet Arctic Flipper

The Arctic Flipper confuses me. It’s like the Lords Mobile developers took an orca, a penguin, and a seal and smushed them all together. It’s a mess. And you’re a mess, too, because you can’t beat this thing without my help.

Luckily, my expert guide below has all the info you need. I’ll show you exactly which lineups to use and list the gear you can get from this monster too. So, if you’re tired of being beaten by Shamu’s ugly brother, keep reading.

How to Attack Arctic Flipper?

Attacking Arctic FlipperAttacking Arctic Flipper

Okay, dummies, listen up, because this part’s important: like every other monster, Arctic Flipper will waddle around the Kingdom Map for exactly 2 hours and 55 minutes. That’s just under 3 hours, for those of you who struggle with numbers.

You’ll need to defeat it before time runs out to get your hands on some pretty decent loot. In order to win the fight quickly, you need to target the Arctic Flipper’s weakness. And since the Arctic Flipper is strong against physical damage, its weakness is…

Magic. It’s magic. I kind of hoped you would figure that part out for yourselves. But maybe I overestimated you. Don’t worry, I won’t make that mistake again.

So, since this overweight orca struggles with magic, the best thing to do is build a lineup of magic users. You know the drill: Snow Queen, Incinerator, Elementalist, etc. These INT heroes will wreck this monster’s day.

However, you also need to be prepared for Arctic Flipper’s attacks. It has the power to knock your heroes back (which is a short-lasting disable), and it can hit multiple characters at a time. That’s why you’ll probably need a decent healer (like Prima Donna) to last through the fight with this freaky SeaWorld Frankenstein.

Arctic Flipper F2P Lineup

Playing this game with nothing but F2P heroes isn’t always easy. You can struggle against certain monsters, as you may not have enough firepower to win fights consistently. This is especially through for high PDEF monsters since INT heroes are in short supply. Luckily, the few good INT heroes you get without paying should do the trick.

Arctic Flipper F2P LineupArctic Flipper F2P Lineup

Level 1-3 Arctic Flipper F2P Hero Lineup: Snow Queen, Elementalist, Incinerator, Sage of Storms, Bombin’ Goblin

You really should write this lineup down somewhere. Write it on your own face, if you have to, so you see it every single time you look in the mirror. It is the best magic lineup for F2P players, and it will beat most monsters that struggle with magic attacks, especially at low levels.

However, if you find yourself facing a bigger, meaner, level 4-5 Arctic Flipper, you’re going to need some healing. If you try to use the lineup above, you’ll simply have to watch as your heroes get wiped out.

Level 4-5 Arctic Flipper F2P Hero Lineup: Child of Light, Elementalist, Incinerator, Prima Donna, Bombin’ Goblin

To make the fight a little fairer, we’re dropping Sage of Storms and Snow Queen. Child of Light joins the party to help stun the Arctic Flipper and reduce its defenses. Meanwhile, I’m also adding Prima Donna to heal the heroes and keep everybody alive as long as possible.

Arctic Flipper P2P Lineup

P2P players shouldn’t even need these guides. You already paid money to get better heroes and make the game easier. And you still need my help to beat a fat fish? Are you kidding me? Okay, let’s make this quick. Here’s my preferred lineup for low-level fights:

Level 1-3 Arctic Flipper P2P Hero Lineup: Storm Fox, Petite Devil, Elementalist, Incinerator, Dream Witch

This lineup is a lot like the low-level F2P one. It’s mainly focused on dealing as much magic damage as quickly as possible. It should be enough to get the win, and Dream Witch can take care of any healing you might need.

Level 4-5 Arctic Flipper P2P Hero Lineup: Twilight Priestess, Petite Devil, Elementalist, Incinerator, Dream Witch

I’m only making a single change for the higher-level fights. We’re adding Twilight Priestess to the crew and leaving Storm Fox behind. Twilight Priestess has useful stun potential to delay some of Arctic Flipper’s attacks, and she does mega damage if killed. That can be the difference between winning or losing the fight.

You could also include Child of Light instead of Twilight Priestess. It’ll have a similar effect. But, since you spent money on Twilight Priestess, you probably want to get some value out of her.

Arctic Flipper Rewards

Let’s be honest, you’re probably not fighting pixelated whales just for fun. You’re doing it for loot. Loot will make your heroes stronger. And that probably gives you some kind of joy in real life. I don’t know, I stopped feeling joy a long time ago.

Anyway, here’s everything you can hope to find when an Arctic Flipper falls:

  • Chest (Common to Legendary, depending on the level)
  • Speed Up (Between 1h and 24h)
  • Shield (8h to 3d)
  • Gems (200 to 1,000)
  • Gold (15k to 600k)
  • Frozen Conch
  • Ambergris Crystal
  • Lustrous Crystal
  • Blubber Oil

So, there’s the usual mix of standard rewards, like gold, gems, and shields. But we’ve also got some unique items at the end of the list there. Those are crafting materials, and if you get enough of them, you can make some sweet gear.

Gears

Every monster in Lords has its own “Set” of armor, weapons, and accessories to craft. Some are good, and some are utterly worthless trash. Luckily, the Arctic Flipper Set is closer to the “Good” end of the spectrum. In fact, it has a couple of items I really like, but here’s the list anyway:

Gear for Arctic FlipperGear for Arctic Flipper
  • Polar Ring: The Polar Ring is a very powerful accessory, granting some big boosts if you can get it up to Mythic level. It gives you 35% extra cavalry and ranged ATK, along with 21% more HP for your cavalry and ranged troops. Those are some hefty bonuses for an accessory, and you should notice a serious boost to your damage levels with this thing equipped. The only downside is that it takes an eternity to get all the materials you need.
  • Orca Mask: I love the design of this thing. But that’s all I like about it since the stat boosts suck. Even at Mythic level, it only provides 18.2% increases to cavalry and ranged ATK, along with 9.8% more ranged DEF and 11.2% cavalry HP. Yuck.
  • Blizzard Pants: Now we’re talking. The Blizzard Pants are an excellent item and definitely worth getting if you’re willing to put in the time. You’ll need a ton of materials to make them, but the boosts are awesome. With these pants, you can deal 42% more cavalry and ranged ATK, as well as 14% bonus army DEF and 16.8% more army HP.
  • Arctic Net: The Arctic Net is a low-level off-hand weapon which is of no use to high-level players. It gives you 14% more cavalry and ranged ATK, and a measly 7% boost to cavalry DEF and ranged HP.

Arctic Flipper Packs

As with any other monster, it’s possible to simply buy your way to the Arctic Flipper Set. You can purchase Arctic Flipper Chests in bulk to get all the Blubber Oil and other items you need. This can save you a lot of time, but it’ll also eat into your bank balance. It’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it. I can’t make every single decision for you.

Final Thoughts

So, what have you learned today, my dumb-dumb readers? Well, you should have learned that the Arctic Flipper is a monster with high physical defense. And the best way to beat it is with your favorite magic users.

Remember to include big damage dealers like Incinerator and Elementalist in all your lineups if you want to win quickly. Don’t forget to add a healer at higher levels, too. And once you start collecting materials, I recommend saving up for the Polar Ring and Blizzard Pants to begin with. Leave the boring Orca Mask for later. And for everything? Check here.
