Nintendo announces a new Pokémon Scarlet & Violet trailer

The Pokémon Company & Nintendo announced earlier today that a new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is to be broadcast on Wednesday, June 1. Pokemaniacs can watch along at 14:00 BST, 15:00 CET, 09:00 EDT and 06:00 PDT. We currently know very little about the fast upcoming ninth Pokémon generation, outside of a short teaser trailer released in February this year.

That first glimpse gave us a look at the sunny new locales of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, which take inspiration from real-life locations in Spain and Portugal. Alongside that, we got a peek at the new starters for the generation, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. As and when we get more Pokémon revealed in the next Pokémon Scarlet & Violet trailer, be sure to check out our Pokémon Scarlet & Violet new Pokémon guide for all the juicy details.

Hopefully, we also get information on the newest gameplay changes, as previous generations have all welcomed some huge mechanics that shake up the meta. Mega Evolutions, Z-Moves, and Dynamax battles all changed the regular battles significantly, and no doubt Game Freak wants to keep the mechanics fresh. We have already seen that this generation features an open world and takes inspiration from the (rather excellent) most recent game Pokémon Legends: Arceus, so we can’t wait to see where the next adventure takes us.
