Ori moves to Aster, ViCi Gaming rebuild with youngsters

Two days ahead of the roster lock deadline, the China shuffle is in full swing with just a couple of teams ready to announce their lineups for the first Tour of the 2021-22 Dota Pro Circuit.

While some of the players from China are still stranded in Europe after the conclusion of TI10 in October, which makes the shuffle happen slower than the usual, ViCi Gaming are one of the few to now have a full roster ready to start the long road to TI11.

From the TI10 line-up, it’s only Yang “poyoyo” Shaohan who will continue in the next competitive year under the VG banner. He will be joined by up and coming players from the region, most of them with no big LAN experience in their hands, but already acquainted with the DPC format.

VG’s new mid laner is the only one among those youngsters who has some competitive history. Formerly a part of CDEC Gaming, EHOME and occasionally a stand-in for PSG.LGD in 2019, Guo “Xm” Hongcheng will play first Tour of China DPC league in the upper division, leaving behind CDEC Gaming, who have a spot in the lower division. He comes to VG with two more teammates from CDEC, namely Zhao “Yds/ “小马” Jiayi and Chen “起风了” Guanhong, also known as Victoria.

VG’s offlane will be occupied by Li “Irving” Jian, who is coming from LBZS Gaming, with whom he managed to promote in the previous season from lower to upper division. For VG this will mark his first tier one team appearance after starting his pro career only last year.

Vici Gaming roster:

Shaohan “poyoyo” Yang
Hongcheng “Xm” Guo
Jian “Irving” Li
Jia Yi “Yds” Zhao
Guanhong “起风了” Chen

Additionally, the organization announced the departure of both their TI10 coaches. According to the VG announcement on their Weibo page, Lu “Fenrir” Chao will be taking a break for the first part of the DPC year, while “QQQ” Yi returns to EHOME after his loan contract with VG expired. The team’s new coach is Wang “Liekkas” Yutian, coming from CDEC Gaming.
