PlayStation 5 Access Controller Release Date

PlayStation 5 Access Controller Release Date

Sony teased an adaptive controller back in January of this year. It was called Project Leonardo, a customizable controller for disabled players.

The device looks promising. Sony stated that they collaborated with the accessibility community to create it, ensuring a comfortable gaming experience for people who are disabled.

Since then, we’ve patiently waited for more details about the controller. The company finally announced a proper release date recently.

The new accessible PlayStation 5 controller will launch globally on Dec. 6, 2023. Pre-orders will start on July 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.

The controller has many customizable elements to make gaming more pleasant for disabled gamers. These features include removable buttons, profile configuration, and a design built for 360-degree operation. The device itself retails for $89.99.

Here’s what you’ll get in the box:

You can even connect the accessible controller to a DualSense wireless controller. There’s also the option to add accessories, like more buttons, to the controller via its expansion ports. Those come at a separate price, and we have yet to find out how much they cost.
