Real HomeStory Cup is a special TakeTV event held in between full-size HomeStory Cups. Ten players will compete live in Krefeld over two days (Sept 9-10), with TakeTV hinting that the event will have an old school vibe.

What exactly does that mean? All the competitors are HSC regulars, while RotterdaM, Wardi, and Lowko return as our usual casters (according to Liquipedia). On the face of it, it seems like a scaled down HomeStory Cup—something many fans would be perfectly happy with.

The promo Tweet/X for this event reads: “Who doesn’t remember the days when everyone sat in a small apartment to challenge each other in their favorite game called #StarCraft2?” Since TakeTV has given sparse details, it seems that viewers will have to wait and see what aspects of old HomeStory Cups are revived for this event.

I really like the fact that the usual EU heavy hitters are not here… much more fun!

I first thought Creator would fly over there and show his Protoss power, but seems like he will probably play online for this one.

Does that mean that Clem will be playing his Master’s Coliseum matches from HSC?

Did they actually fly Creator all the way to Europe for this??

I only wonder, that Take mostly have interest in his own pocket more than saving SC2 , as he takes half of donations, money from AD’s and puts 0 money into prizepool initially

Completely absurd of you to suggest that Take is only doing this out of greed. The man oozes passion for the game. TakeTV has done more for Starcraft than almost anyone. What have you done for SC2?

Look at the post history of this user, and you have a pretty good Idea of the mindset.

Yeah, right. It is much better to have no tournaments instead of someone with passion for the game getting a little bit out of it. And believe me, considering the high energy-prices in germany right now, they can be happy to get atleast a little bit out of it…

Can’t go wrong with more HSC! Awesome news!

Now witness their attempts to fly from tree to tree. Notice they do not so much fly as plummet.

Ah, yes, hosting incredible tournaments with a bunch of additional social activities and other events for a relatively obscure RTS e-sports game, one of the easiest and readiest ways of making money in this day and age.

TakeTV is one of the pillars of the SC2 community.

Anyway, so much SC2 this weekend! HomeStory Cup and Master’s Coliseum.

Mutation complete.

Anyone who suggests what TakeTV is doing it for money doesn’t know shit about current SC2 esport scene.
It’s not worth it to do this for money, they do it out of passion.
Money only make it possible as production costs are always there.

Even with the expected donation money the event will most likely be run at a loss.
You have to consider hotels, travel, accomodations (food, drinks etc during the event), etc. that TaKe pays for.

Mind we changed Playoffs to single elim to give more time for other stuff during the stream.

Also as a side note TaKe is already live with some pre show stuff right now: https://www.twitch.tv/take
