Red’s Hawaiian Shirts And Killer Watermelons In Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis Summer Event – Droid Gamers

Last week we covered the release, but it seems like the Ever Crisis content news isn’t over yet, folks. A Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis event is the new story out there.

It’s not even a week into the release, and the first event already kicked off. Still quite late in the year for a Summer beach episode. We’re not complaining, though.

Yes, it’s a beach event, but things aren’t all just sandcastles and sunbathing. There are some sinister things afoot on the sand.

Malevolent Melons

The release trailer hit Twitter, showing Zack enjoying his time at the beach in his swimwear, only to have his vacation rudely interrupted. A terrible monster is harassing beachgoers, a giant watermelon Tonberry, a watonmelon, if you will.

You’ll need to face off against the feral fruit if you want to make the coastline safe again.

Aside from the melon mayhem, there’s new gear and weapons to be had. Tifa gets the lifeguard gloves. Red XIII gets the Seaside Collar, and we get the surreal sight of Red in a Hawaiian shirt.

Deadly Parasol

Zack gets some attention, too. He gets the limited edition Tropical Beach gear, and the Beach Parasol. In case you ever wondered what the Crisis Core hero would look like fighting monsters with a big umbrella while dressed for the pool, now you can find out.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is a free-to-play gacha RPG that takes you on a whistle-stop tour of the storylines of the Final Fantasy VII series timeline in bite-sized episodes. These are all tied together in a style that resembles a modernized version of the original game.

This is along with an updated version of the Active Time Battle system, which is simple to pick up, but brings its own complexities.
