SnowRunner Season 7 is just around the corner and, for the first time in the series’ history, will feature playable races. With a confirmed release date of May 31, 2022, SnowRunner Season 7 “Compete & Conquer” comes in tow with a brand new map peppered with racing events to partake in.

This is definitely a change of pace for the popular cargo-hauling sim which typically has players plan routes through rough terrain and approach cautiously.

It’s worth noting that these won’t be head-to-head races with AI opponents or other players. Instead, you’ll go up against a series of time trial events, competing for high scores and bragging rights. Here’s everything you can expect.

SnowRunner Season 7 Overview

Season 7: Compete & Conquer takes you to Burning Mill, Tennessee and introduces new racing activities for the very first time in the series. Take part in time-trial events and secure checkpoints on your way to the finish line or compete with friends for bragging rights on dirt and off-road tracks. With hot-air balloons in the sky and a village of tents, the stage is set for SnowRunner to get competitive!

To help you beat the clock, two new vehicles will make their way to your garage, each with an exclusive racing-themed skin: the super lightweight Gor BY-4, and the Sprinter 43-19, a fearsome Dakar-style truck tailor-made for speed in the harshest conditions.

May 31, 2022, also marks the launch of SnowRunner on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. This will be a free upgrade for those who own the game on PS4 and Xbox One respectively.

Season 7 will be available to those who have a Year 2 Pass. Alternatively, you can buy the DLC separately.

When SnowRunner launched two years ago, Dom couldn’t help but fall in love with its mix of challenging gameplay and sense of immersion:

“SnowRunner is a game thoroughly, single-mindedly, in love with the open road. It just happens that it’s the kind of love that’s bred by getting that road so thoroughly under your nails, you occasionally have to wonder whether it’s actually hate. Care, attention and time will show that SnowRunner is a passion project worth putting the extra mile in for.”

Since launch, the sequel has enjoyed a string of updates and expansions (both free and premium) as well as a strong modding scene.
