[Sources] Srrty to Replace S0ul on EG Challengers

According to multiple sources, Evil Geniuses have reportedly reached an agreement with Jett Michael “Srtty” Joye to become their new top laner for the NACL, replacing Cheng Alex “S0ul” Luo. Srrty was the top laner for Team Liquid first before they were relegated from NACL at the end of Spring Split 2023. However, before that Srrty was part of EG playing on both their EG Prodogies their old amateur team and EG Academy now turned EG challengers.

The recent roster change within Evil Geniuses’ NACL team may indeed catch many fans and followers off guard. The decision to replace S0ul indicates that the organization is looking to address underperformance and make strategic adjustments to improve their standings in the NACL Summer Split.
Evil Geniuses Challengers have encountered some challenges in the competition thus far. With a current record of 2-1-3 in best-of-twos (bo2s), they find themselves in the sixth place.

Evil Geniuses are one of the few organizations that prioritized maintaining a dedicated NACL roster. Their commitment to nurturing and developing North American talent is important to the North American LoL ecosystem. EG have a good record of developing talent as players like Jojopyun and Danny have successfully progressed through Evil Geniuses’ systems and made their way into the LCS.

How much of an impact the roster change will have for EGC can only be determined with time. It is sad to see S0ul go but it will be worth watching to see what he does next. The addition of Srrty to the team may be the first step towards winning the NACL summer split.
