The story of the BLAST Premier Fall Final in photos

Five days of thrilling Counter-Strike action came to a close in Denmark this past Sunday, the Royal Arena playing host to eight teams that did battle in the second-last top-tier event of the year. There were storylines aplenty coming into the tournament, teams who faltered at the IEM Rio Major all looking to prove their wasted chances in Brazil were an outlier, and some hoping to bounce back entirely after a lackluster period of form.

None of those teams ended up lifting the trophy in the end, however, and it was instead Heroic who picked up their first big tournament title, becoming the first Danish CS:GO team to hoist the trophy in the Royal Arena. Casper “cadiaN” Møller‘s men maintained their trajectory from a runners-up finish at the Major and delivered thrilling Counter-Strike throughout the event, culminating with a win in a dramatic three-map series against FaZe in the grand final to take home the title.

Take a look back in picture form as to how the tournament played out below, and relive some of the highlight moments as teams took the stage in Copenhagen.

Liquid arrived in Denmark hoping to make up for an early exit at the Major

NIP were in the same camp, their form from the European RMR not carrying into the event in Brazil

Meanwhile, G2 returned to the server after sitting the Major out, but were unable to overcome Liquid in their opening match

… and FaZe hit the ground running against OG, recovering from their shocking loss to Bad News Eagles in Rio

G2 knocked Fluxo out of contention, the only win that would go their way in Denmark

npL watched from the sidelines as he prepares to step in for NAVI at the World Final

but he didn’t end up watching too many matches as Aleksib’s men saw to NAVI’s elimination

Heroic then ensured they would play in front of their home crowd by overcoming G2

…and the doors to the Royal Arena swung open to let the Danish fans pour in

The stage was all set for the four remaining teams

cadiaN led his side to victory over Liquid in the first semi-final

NIP let a 14-7 lead on the Nuke decider slip, and Brollan couldn’t bear to watch the outcome of the round at 14-14 as NIP dropped a 5vs2 situation to ultimately lose the series

karrigan, naturally, was more than overjoyed

The desk set the stage for the final match of the event, a tantalizing clash between FaZe and Heroic for the title

A stunning sequence of Deagle headshots from rain on Inferno turned the tides for FaZe in the grand final, helping force a third map

…but it wasn’t enough to claim victory in the end with Heroic pulling together in overtime on Mirage to take the series

stavn was in tears as he and cadiaN stood alongside one another, lifting a trophy at last
