What We Played #550 – Sifu, Call of Duty: Vanguard & FIFA 22

Once we’ve got past all the ‘I can’t believe it’s Friday already’ chit-chat, it’s been a good week for gaming in our house. Lots of new things to try out, including Ni No Kuni Cross Worlds, Kaiju Wars, and Eternal Threads, though I’ve also continued the comforting run through Assassin’s Creed III. I can feel an ‘in defence of Connor’ article coming up, since I’m so far really enjoying the whole thing.

Gareth was first up this week he’s played the alliterative duo of Divinity Original Sin 2 and Dying Light. Maybe next week he’ll play Divinity Original Sin and Dying Light 2?

Aran meanwhile has continued to battle through Elden Ring. He says, “I’m at the final boss but running around and clearing things up. Also a bit of FIFA 22 career mode. Thought I’d give it a go with Crystal Palace. Currently 8th in the league.”

Steve has mainly played Vampire Masquerade Ron Swanson (Swansong) for an upcoming review. Aside from that, he’s dipped in and out of a few indie games for previews.

Call of Duty beta multiplayer hotel royal

Jumping back into Call of Duty Vanguard for the first time since launch, Jim told us, “It remains my favourite COD multiplayer since the original Black Ops, though I’m getting my ass handed to me. I’ve either been thrown into the tough skill-based matchmaking pool, or the only Vanguard players left are die-hard – each lobby is packed with players sporting the pricey new Godzilla and Snoop Dog skins. I’ve also been back to the Bayou in Hunt: Showdown.”

Nic B has played Pogo and Magic – he’s a real creature of habit! He also tried his hand at Slay the Spire, which is “a laugh” apparently. Similarly habitual, his namesake Nick P played the usual smattering of Dead By Daylight, but complimented it with FIFA 22 and more Horizon Forbidden West.

Sifu Preview Table

Ade has really been enjoying Sifu, with its “Challenging gameplay, an innovative structure, and kick-ass combat that feels like you’re playing The Raid: The Videogame.” He’s happy to recommend it!

And finally, Tef has been playing We Were Here Forever, the latest walkie-talkie co-op puzzler, spent last weekend with F1 22 for preview, and shared his thoughts on the “Rocket League but golf” game Turbo Golf Racing.

Now then, what have you played?
