When thinking about T1, people around the world can’t help but remember SK T1’s record breaking Worlds runs for League of Legends. With names like Faker and Bang, the professional brand name of T1 for Esports is one that has incredible recognition. But is Wild Rift T1 any good? And how have they been performing at Icons, the Worlds Event for Wild Rift? Here is a brief overview of their performance thus far.
Analysis
As a whole, T1 in Wild Rift definitely is strong. But they’re not quite as strong as T1 in League of Legends. In fact, Korea is arguably not that strong compared to regions like SEA and China. At the moment of the article’s creation, the Chinese teams at Icons are undefeated in their series. Not just the Seed 1, but quite literally all three seeds. The Chinese teams definitely stand supreme for Wild Rift. But what about T1?
Well, T1 definitely beat out the EU teams this time around. They’ve managed to hang on as long as possible, but fell short twice against Team Flash. They couldn’t make their way past groups, and were eliminated after an arduous struggle on the world championship stage.
Even when comparing to the rest of Korea’s teams, they’re not even close to being labeled the strongest at the moment. Rolster Y is undeniably Korea’s strongest Wild Rift team as of now. And in RY Luna’s words, the rest of Korea needs to improve if they want to stand on top of the world.

Wild Rift T1 has a long way to grow before they can proudly represent and be compared to League of Legends’ iteration of the professional brand name. But the game is still young, and so too are the players. They will definitely grow into their unique position to show T1’s competitive mentality towards an Esport.
