2022 NFL Top 100: 70-61

Now that the 2022 NFL Draft is over, the TGH staff have ranked their top 100 players ahead of the 2022 NFL season. 

Multiple TGH staff members voted on their top 100 players, who were given scores based on their ranks, then sorted by their final score. The players were ranked regardless of position, and the editors broke any ties at their discretion.

Each article in this series will list 10 players at a time, with brief comments on their 2021 performances and what is expected of them in 2022. Make sure to check back every Friday for the next 10 players in our list!

Today, we list and evaluate players 70-61 in our list of the 2022 NFL Top 100.

70. Kyler Murray

Murray has been the topic of much discussion in the 2022 offseason. He scrubbed his Instagram of all Cardinals-related content before having his agent essentially call for the team to pay him ahead of his fifth-year option. Most would agree that the former first-overall pick has earned a payday, as he led the Cardinals back to the postseason in 2021 and accounted for 90 total touchdowns since his arrival. -Ben Hendricks

69. D.K. Metcalf

Metcalf may be the best 50-50 ball receiver in the entire NFL at the moment. The speed and physicality with which he plays makes him invaluable to the Seahawks’ offense. His 2021 gave him his career-high in receiving touchdowns (12), although he fell short of 1,000 yards. He eclipsed 1,300 yards in 2020, which was his Pro Bowl and Second Team All-Pro year. Metcalf will be the best player on the Seahawks in 2022, which could rocket him up these kinds of lists in 2023. -Ben Hendricks

68. Mike Evans

In 2021, for the fourth time in his eight seasons, Mike Evans scored double digit touchdowns. In fact, his 14 touchdowns was a career-high. Even more impressive than is that the fact that has never failed to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards since entering the NFL. One can only assume he will continue to show his greatness in 2022. -Ben Hendricks

67. Keenan Allen

Allen has proven to be one of the best route-runners in the game. He provided a great target for Justin Herbert as the young quarterback showed development. At 30 years old there is no reason to think he is going to slow down quite yet. He has had three straight 100 catch seasons and that should continue in 2022. -Joe DiTullio

66. Tyrann Mathieu

A three-time Pro Bowler and First Team All-Pro, Mathieu is beginning the next chapter of his career in his home state of Louisiana. After guiding the Chiefs’ defense to two straight Super Bowls, the former LSU Tiger received a payday by the Saints, in hopes of changing the culture in New Orleans from offense to defense. Mathieu will be back to form in 2022, no doubt. -Ben Hendricks

65. Dalvin Cook

Cook has battled injury issues over the years, but has turned into one of the best running backs in the game. He has three straight 1,000 yard rushing seasons and has really opened up the offense for their talented receivers. The Vikings have star power on offense and Cook is one of the brightest stars of them all. -Joe DiTullio

64. Kyle Pitts

Kyle Pitts was a valued draft pick heading into the 2021 season and he proved why throughout the duration of that season. The tight end made it to the Pro Bowl after his first season in the NFL. Pitts did not score a lot in his first year, only grabbing one receiving touchdown. However, he had over 1,000 receiving yards and he caught 61 percent of his passes.

Furthermore, he averaged 60.4 yards per game with his longest reception of the year being 60 yards. Pitts is a reliable tight end that can be counted on to rack up big plays that can get his team in scoring position. He should have another monster season in 2022. -Matthew Brown

63. Ryan Ramczyk

Ramczyk has been one of the best offensive tackles in the league over the past few years. His play has kept the offense rolling, even with the loss of Drew Brees. The Saints have the potential to really improve on offense in 2022 with Jameis Winston and MIchael Thomas returning, but Ramczyk will provide some stability on the offensive line after Terron Armstead departed. -Joe DiTullio

62. Xavien Howard

Xavien Howard was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Since being drafted he has proven to be one of the best ball hawking cornerbacks in the league. Howard ranked number one in the league in interceptions in 2018 (7) and 2020 (10).

In 2021, Howard had another beast of a year as he had 50 total tackles, 16 pass deflections and five interceptions. He will be heading into his seventh year going into the 2022 season and will more than likely be one of the best defensive players on this Dolphins team. -Matthew Brown

61. Kevin Byard

The fifth-year Titans safety had a massive five interceptions, one touchdown, two forced fumbles and 88 total tackles in 2021. He has also been historically healthy and available, which is a big boon to the Titans’ defense which has struggled to stay on the field in recent years. He earned his second First Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods last season, and should continue to anchor this defense next season. -Ben Hendricks
