All Overwatch 2 Illari Abilities Revealed, Explained

Since Blizzard first revealed the heroine, Overwatch fans have been waiting for the full reveal of Illari’s kit. From her weapon to her playstyle, here are all the Overwatch 2 Illari abilities that gamers need to know about before playing the new support hero.

Illari Abilities In Overwatch 2

Illari’s Solar Rifle

Like all Overwatch 2 characters, each one comes with a rather unique primary weapon, the same can be said for Illari.

In Overwatch 2 Illari will be wielding her Solar Rifle. The rifle will come with not only a primary firing option but a secondary one as well. With the primary fire, the Solar Rifle will be a long-range auto-charging rifle allowing her to deal regular damage. The secondary option, however, doesn’t do any damage and instead will apply to her support role. Illari’s secondary fire is a mid-range beam that will heal allies but it consumes the solar energy that has been steadily charging while playing.

Illari’s Outburst
The first of Illari’s abilities is Outburst. With this ability, Illari can be launched in the direction she is moving towards. If enemies are in the way or surrounding Illari she will proceed to knock them back.

Illari’s Pylon

Being the healer that she is Illari’s second ability is pylon. With this move, she can deploy a healing pylon that can heal any allies in proximity.

Captive Sun Ultimate

A unique ultimate, Captive Sun lets Illari fire off a ball of solar energy. If enemies happen to come in contact with this ball of energy, not only will they take massive damage when it explodes the ball can also apply a slow effect.

Illari’s Playstyle

When playing the new support hero players should be cautious about gathering and using their solar energy. Without it or using it with poor management and drastically affect the amount of damage and healing Illari can do. Her kit requires a healthy balance like when playing with Moira. Outburst and Healing Pylon should both be used in support of teammates. In terms of dealing with damage, her Ultimate can pick up the slack. While Moira can be used as DPS it’s preferred that Illari is used in her assigned support role to better benefit the team.
