Build Mechas And Dioramas In Kriegsfront Battlescaper, Out Now As A Free Download

Indonesian indie developers Toge Productions have released a free tool/toy for its upcoming turn-based mecha strategy tactics game Kriegsfront Tactics today.

Kriegsfront Battlescaper, as it’s called, lets you mess around with the game’s mecha builder and level editor, allowing you to design your own Krieger mechas, and then create your own diorama scenes, place those custom mechs with different poses. And then take photos of them with the Photo Mode.

It’s a neat little tool. It gives you a sampler of what to expect from Kriegsfront Tactics. The game is based in an alternate 1970s Southeast Asia where a conflict is happening. And it involves mechas.

These Krieger mechas will remind you a lot of what’s seen in the Front Mission series, where the mechas are less sleek and relatively smaller in size. You can create multiple mechas using various body parts (including weapon arms), weapons (some being two-handed) shoulder missiles and more. You can paint each part individually, as well as add patterns and emblems.

The level editor lets you create your own maps by changing its elevation, adding props like trees, houses and ruins and paint each tile with different textures.

Then you can place and pose your mechas in what’s essentially a diorama. A good selection of the mechas’ animations that you’ll see in the main game is available as poses. And top it all off you get access to a pretty good Photo Mode with all the features you’d expect.

Kriegsfront Battlescaper is a free download available on Steam, released today to coincide with the release of Toge Productions’ latest published title, Vanaris Tactics.

Kriegsfront Tactics is still in development with no target release window yet.
