CB Shaq Griffin Placed on Injured Reserve

The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed cornerback Shaq Griffin on injured reserve. A back injury has placed Griffin on IR, meaning he will miss at least four weeks. Their bye week comes in Week 11, meaning he could only miss three games.

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ official Twitter account reported the news on Wednesday.

Griffin was chosen by the Seahawks in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. A year later, his twin brother Shaquem Griffin, was also chosen by the Seahawks. He played in Seattle for four years before signing with the Jaguars for three years, $44.5 million.

So far in 2022, Griffin has played in five games, collecting four pass deflections and 29 combined tackles (23 solo tackles). In 2020, arguably his best year, he had three interceptions, a career high, along with 63 tackles and 12 pass deflections.
