DreamLeague Season 23 lineup finalized; no surprises with last qualified teams | GosuGamers

With the last five teams securing their place at DreamLeague Season 23, the 12-team lineup is now set.

Twelve teams will be competing at DreamLeague Season 23. Of those 12, four teams have been directly invited – Falcons, Gaimin Gladiators, BetBoom Team, and Xtreme Gaming. The remaining eight teams were determined through the qualifiers.

Aurora Gaming, Shopify, and Na’Vi secured their place last week. This weekend the five remaining slots were sealed.

There was not much to be surprised about with the results. Azure Ray took another win after beating Team Zero, not once, but twice for the slot. South America’s slot went to Heroic, who seems to be the SA flavor of the season. Western Europe might have had some disappointed fans with Team Secret and OG not qualifying but it wasn’t much of a surprise to see the slots given to Tundra and Team Liquid. And last but not least, the MENA spot went to Quest, as they edged out Nigma 3:2 in the grand finals. Nigma did secure a spot at Elite League, perhaps only since Quest was already invited to that.

The teams will gather next month in bootcamps in Europe to participate at DL Season 23 for a share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and and 26,100 EPT points. At this point with no DPC, many expect that the EPT points will be critical for participating in ESL’s LANs and might be the biggest factor in determining The International 2024 invites.

DreamLeague Season 23 will be followed by an ESL One LAN tournament in Asia, dates and location to be announced. This will be the least DreamLeague Season before The International 2024.
