Wondering how to save your game in Dying Light 2? Here’s everything you need to know.
Understandably, you’ll want to make sure your progress in Dying Light 2 is saves regularly. It’s a big game, and every mission completed is important. But here’s the bad news: there’s no manual save function in Dying Light 2. At least not right now. There’s no way to head into the menu and simply hit “save”. Sorry.
It doesn’t have to be the end of the world, though. Thankfully Dying Light 2 has a very robust autosave system meaning your progress is continually being recorded in the background. If you die, you’ll start back either where you were or at the closest safe house, with your mission status intact. Autosaves happen frequently during missions and exploration, so all items you find and enemies you’ve killed will be saved.

The downside is that loading on Xbox Series X and PS5 is so quick that you’re unlikely to notice the “saving” icon pop up in the corner. Were assured it’s there, and we’ve never had a problem with lost progress.
To be safe, we recommend returning to a safe room, hideout or settlement before turning off your game, and make sure you don’t quit half way through a mission unless you absolutely have to.
